COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
Shell companies have been exploring for and producing hydrocarbons for over a century. Today, Exploration & Production (EP) employs some 17,500 people and a further 10,000 contractors worldwide and has interests in ventures in around 40 countries. This is a technically challenging work environment characterised by a continuing need for research, the pursuit of new technology, and the adoption of new ways of working. It demands people who will thrive in a culture that encourages and rewards innovation, collaboration and the ability to learn from success as well as failure.
Â
Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production Company (SNEPCO) uses advanced cutting edge technologies in frontier deepwater areas of over 1,000 metres. The Bonga deepwater discovery made in 1995 increased Nigeriaâs crude reserves by some 600 million barrels. SNEPCO is a rapidly growing company, and is made up of a range of large operated and non-operated deep and shallow water assets. The production operations support, plus well and reservoir surveillance, subsurface and well delivery work is currently being migrated from the global technical partners to Lagos-based staff.
Â
Sea Eagle and Bonga FPSOs (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) are the industryâs most advanced offshore units for the production of oil and gas operating in water depths of up to 1400 meters. These units have fully integrated advanced instrumentation systems that cover fire and gas detection, emergency shutdown safety systems, central control rooms, oil production, subsea well umbilical interfaces, gas compression and export, water injection power generation and fiscal custody transfer.Â
Â
The Maintenance and Integrity Engineering Department is responsible for the maintenance management and integrity verification processes on all SNEPCOâs assets. It provides support to the operations teams who carry out routine asset maintenance and holds the contracts and responsibility for major non-routine maintenance activities.
Â
Weâre currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join us in Lagos.
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities :
As Maintenance Engineer - Instruments, youâll be responsible for executing, planning, analysing and improving the activities of the instrument maintenance process, and set and maintain the instrument maintenance standards and strategies for SNEPCOâs two FPSOs and associated offshore assets.
Â
Youâll work with the asset maintenance teams to ensure diagnostic and instrument maintenance routines are optimised to ensure that high level of integrity and safety are maintained. Weâll also expect you to work with the asset teams to develop and maintain long-term instrument and inspection plans. In addition, youâll create and maintain maintenance performance standards including appropriate integrity KPI targets.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Requirements :
Weâd prefer you to have a degree in instrument engineering, but if you have another relevant qualification, we would like to hear from you. At least six yearsâ experience of integrated system instrument commissioning or instrument maintenance engineering is essential, and youâll be at an advantage if some of this was âhands-onâ.
Â
Weâll expect you to have spent some time working in an offshore environment, and to have a good commercial awareness and experience of contract management. You should also possess knowledge of failure investigation and root cause analysis tools.
Â
A self-starter, youâll be able to work with minimal supervision and possess the ability to communicate well and interact with the operations team both on and offshore.
