Shell Oil Products US is currently seeking a Business Model Coordinator for its refinery located in Deer Park, Texas.
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities :
In this position, you will be responsible for assisting refinery leadership in the overall work processes involved in establishing direction, executing the plan, and analyzing/communicating results.
Key Accountabilities:
- Supports the business plan process for DPRLP and assists refinery leadership with strategy development efforts
- Integrates information and analyzes monthly business performance, both financial and operational
- Benchmarking and analyzing DPRLP performance (gross margin, costs, people, etc.) against industry, key competitors, and Shell utilizing internal (Shell) and external (i.e., Solomon) benchmarking tools
- Calculating DPRLP monthly Non-Energy Cash Costs (NECC) and Maintenance Index, and providing supporting variance analysis
- Supporting 5-year Business Plan (T&R) development, consolidation, submittal and reporting, including required communications with PMI North America
- Supporting development of key refinery metrics from 5-year Business Plan and tracking monthly
- Supporting monthly/quarterly reporting of key refinery operational and benchmarking metrics to the Refinery Leadership team and Partners' Committee, including pre-read, presentation material, and background data or speaker's notes
- Coordinating production of 5-year business plan booklet and supporting Set & Execute Direction processes
- Supporting refinery performance database including MATS
- Responding to Shell and PMI ad hoc requests for data, information, and analysis
- Coordinating information, presentations, and/or tours for various VIP visitors, as requested
- Serving as a resource for extending the Business Model to organizations and departments within the Deer Park refinery
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Requirements :
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business Administration, or Economics and have approximate 5 or more years of relevant professional experience. An MBA is an asset but is not required. Process engineering background (operations support, project engineering, or operations experience) is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of refinery operations
- Operations planning experience at a refinery or major chemical plant, trading, or other commercial negotiation experience is an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Interpersonal skills and team dynamics: Relates to others with comfort and ease and exhibits positive behaviors in a team environment; must deal effectively with conflict, ambiguity, and the challenges of escalating issues and getting them on the table for discussion/resolution
- Must be able to influence others without relying on strict hierarchical structure
- Communication skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, tactfulness, cultural sensitivity
- Organizational skills: Organized when dealing with data and information; provides rigor and structure
